As was introduced at the NADCP Conference in Milwaukee, the National Drug Court Institute is developing a publication series on adult drug court sustainability strategies that jurisdictions are utilizing to maintain and sustain drug courts in their communities. This publication series is supported by the Office of National Drug Control Policy to promote the long-term viability of drug courts by promoting individual jurisdiction’s strategies for sustainability. The inaugural publication of this series will focus on unique and creative funding strategies that jurisdictions employ to sustain ongoing drug court operations, to build additional drug court components, to serve new target groups, to improve service provision and supervision, to enhance incentives or to provide additional drug court practitioner training.
Adult drug courts, family dependency drug courts, tribal and wellness courts, and DUI drug courts are encouraged to share the successful funding strategies they have employed to effectively supervise and treat drug court participants to promote recovery and improve outcomes.
Please take a moment to submit a creative funding strategy to be reviewed for inclusion in this publication by contacting Dennis Reilly, NDCI Project Consultant at sustaindrugcourt@aol.com or call (203) 500-0993. By sharing innovative funding strategies with other drug courts, drug courts can sustain each other and better serve those in need. Thank you for participating in the development of this NDCI publication series and we look forward to highlighting your local drug court.
